OLOF WESSELS - DUTCH PHOTOGRAPHER (i)

Olof Wessels, is a professional photographer from the Netherlands.

He studied photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in the Hague and got his bachelor degree in 1991.

From 1992 to 1999 he worked as a photographer for a studio in Beverwijk (Holland) mainly shooting portraits, fashion, weddings, and doing some advertisement and some editorial work.

In 1999 as a freelancer he was working for model agencies, doing weddings, portraits and a lot of business to business photography.

2004, as Olaf Wessels says, it was a year of disaster. Doctors found out that he had cataract on both eyes and he had to stop his photography to have an operation on both eyes

In the middle of 2005 he was able again to return back to photography as a freelancer and in October 2005 he was a freelance photography teacher at The Fotofactory in Amsterdam.

Now as we are looking to his work we can discover that Olaf style is changing. He is stepping away from the stylish studio work and tries to work as much on location as possible with an emphasis on a "snapshot" kind of style.

He teaches photography at the Photofactory in Amsterdam as a freelancer and he is also doing a lot of (paid) test shooting for several agencies in Holland. He also does some scouting for Xistanz: www.xistanz.nl
